An Alternative Method for Incorporating Fiber Meshes in Complete Upper Dentures

چکیده
The most commonly used material for constructing complete dentures is polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). However, the strength characteristics of PMMA, such as impact and fatigue strength, are poor, fracturing PMMA a common problem in prosthodontic practice. Reinforcing with various materials, carbon fibers, glass fibers (fiberglass), ultrahigh modulus polyethylene has been suggested to strengthen denture-base material. A encountered when packing resin on these specimens fiber slippage beyond denture edges. present study proposes an alternative method incorporating meshes into dentures, whereby thin filament self-polymerizing at perimeter mesh produced, giving clear stable shape that fits upper jaw cast. During placement shaped cast, positive-negative relationship created between which immobilizes during incorporation process.

Plant tissue culture is an alternative method of commercial propagation and is being used widely for the commercial propagation of a large number of plant species, including many medicinal plants. Somatic embryogenesis is a process by which asexual or somatic cells are induced to form embryos in culture. Somatic embryogenesis is a multi-step regeneration process starting with formation of pro-e...
متن کاملTotal CAD/CAM Supported Method for Manufacturing Removable Complete Dentures
The incorporation of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology into complete denture fabrication brings about several advantages to the fabrication process, providing better predictability of the desired outcomes and high accuracy of denture fit, mainly because the milling of prepolymerized acrylic resin eliminates the shrinkage of the acrylic base. Also, there is ...
متن کاملPostinsertion changes in complete dentures.
The influence of denture changes, occurring during a period of use ranging from one to 15 years, was studied in a group of 35 complete denture subjects. Clinical and electromyographic data were collected. N0 correlation was found between denture serviceability on the one hand and masticatory performance and muscular coordination during chewing of test food on the other. However, a significant c...
متن کاملAngular Chelitis in Complete Dentures
Purpose: Dentures may act as a reservoir for most of the pathogens and ulcers caused due to dentures harbour the same number of bacterial colonies. The main aim of this study is to assess the Candida albicans in complete denture wearers with angular chelitis. Though Candida albicans is the predominant pathogen in angular chelitis , other species may be present which are equally pathogenic. Mate...

systemic infections. Microwave irradiation has been used as an efficient method of denture disinfection. Even though current methods eliminate denture-base microorganisms, a recurrence rate of denture stomatitis (DS) is still observed among denture-wearing patients. It was hypothesized that microwave disinfection kills microorganisms but do not remove dead bacteria from the denture surface. To ...
